Jim and Mary Scholefied are the Merry Inhabitants of Hut on the Hill Farm.
And why are we so Merry? Because with the purchase of this neglected little farm in 2005 we've achieved a lifelong dream - it gives us great joy to be the stewards of this lovely little hill.
Our small-scale, sustainable farm includes 60 acres in New Woodstock and another 56 acres in the town of Lincklaen, NY.
When we purchased our land, the farm was a shambles and the land had been depleted through years of destructive farming practices.
We have set out to restore the fertility of these rolling hills though proper grazing and other environmentally friendly practices.
Using sound stewardship, we aim to create a healthy home for our family and livestock, while living harmoniously with our natural environment.
